Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ICELAND
Arrival in Iceland. If time allows, go for a exploration walk around Reykjavík.
Overnight in Reykjavík in one of our 3-star hotels.
Day 2: WHALE FJORD AND BORGARFJÖRÐUR
Explore the scenic Whale fjord and the saga valley Borgarfjörður with its waterfalls, hot springs and historic sites. Visit Europes most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver.
Spend two nights in our hotels in West Iceland.
Day 3: ICELAND IN A NUTSHELL ON SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA
Explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula with its snow capped volcano, stunning coastline, lava fields and bird colonies. Take your time to explore the magnificent Snæfellsnes National Park and to visit the cozy town of Stykkishólmur from where you can go on boat tours around Breiðafjörður bay.
Day 4: GLAUMBÆR TURF FARM
Drive to Skagafjörður, the valley of the horses and home of Glaumbær turf farm. Stop at the former volcano Grábrók, where you can hike up to the top and enjoy a magnificent view over the area.
Overnight three nights in our hotels in North Iceland.
Day 5: HISTORICAL SITES OF TRÖLLASKAGI PENINUSLA
Drive to Siglufjörður, the former herring-fishing capital of Iceland, and visit the historic sites of Hólar as well as the stunning sites of Tröllaskagi peninsula. Drive further on to Akureyri, the capital of the north, and the waterfall of the gods, Goðafoss.
Day 6: MÝVATN AREA
Go for a hike in the Mývatn area and experience the unique landscape. You can also visit the large goethermal area Námaskrað.
Optional whale watching cruise is available out of Húsavík in the evening (June - August).
Day 7: DETTIFOSS WATERFALL
Drive around Tjörnes peninsula and visit Europe’s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss (mid June to August). Heading east, you should pass through a large wasteland area.ast.
Overnight in Fosshotel Eastfjords.
Day 8: EAST FJORDS OF ICELAND
Proceed further south. Enjoy your ride along the scenic East fjords. Stop in Höfn to relax in the cities swimming pool. Overnight two nights in one of our hotels in Vatnajökull region.
Day 9: VATNAJÖKULL NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy the Vatnajökull glacier, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and Skaftafell National Park. Take a trip to cape Ingólfshöfði to see the puffins. Stop in Brunnhóll for a delicous glacier ice cream.
Day 10: WONDERS ALONG THE SOUTH COAST
Drive along the south coast and witness many natural wonders such as black lava beaches, waterfalls and glaciers. The folk museum in Skogar is worth a visit, close to the impressive Skogarfoss waterfall.
Spend one night in Fosshotel Hekla or similar.
Day 11: GEYSIR HOT SPRING AREA
Visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Overnight in Reykjavík in one of our 3-star hotels.
Day 12: DEPART FOR HOME
If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes Peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation.
