Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ICELAND
Arrival in Iceland. If the times allows go for a walk to explore Reykjavík.
Overnight in Reykjavík in one of our 3-star hotels.
Day 2: ICELANDS SOUTH COAST
Travel along the southern coast of Icleand on Road #1. Stop at the waterfall Seljalandsfoss at the edge of the worlds famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier. It is possible to walk behind the waterfall. Stop further in Vík to take a walk on the black sand beach. While driving get impressed with the view to the mighty Vatnajökull glacier.
Overnight for two nights in one of our hotels in Vatnajökull area.
Day 3: GLACIER LAGOON AND PUFFINS
Take a trip on the cape Ingólfshöfði and watch the puffins. Drive to the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón and take a boat trip in the lagoon. Stop at the farm Brunnhóll for the famous glacier ice cream, which is considered to be one of the best tasting in Iceland.
Day 4: SKOGARFOSS AND FOLK MUSEUM
Drive along the scenic south coast in direction to Selfoss area, where you will spend the next two nights. On your way stop in Skógar and visit the popular folk museum.
Another option is to drive through the highland via the pearl of the Icelandic highland, Landmannalaugar. Please note that this road is 4x4 only and only opens in the summertime.
Overnight two nights in Fosshotel Hekla or similar.
Day 5: ÞJÓRSADALUR AND HJALPAFOSS
Explore the Þjórsárdalur with its stunning waterfall Hjalpafoss and the viking ruins of Stöng.
Enjoy the oasis Gjáin with its green surroundings and the exhilarant waterfalls. The mighty volcano Hekla will be visible for during the whole tour.
Day 6: GEYSIR HOT SPRING AREA AND GULLFOSS WATERFALL
Drive via the golden circle to the south. Stop at the golden waterfall, Gullfoss, the Geysir hot springs and Þingvellir National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stay two nights in our hotels in West Iceland.
Day 7: SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA
Drive south to the coast of Snæfellsnes peninsula and explore the spatter ring crater Eldborg as well as the seal colony in Ytri-Tunga.
Day 8: SETTLEMENT CENTER IN BORGARNES
Travel back to Reykjavík. Make a pit stop in Borgarnes and visit the popular Saga Settlement Centre.
Overnight two nights in Reykjavík in one of our 3-star hotels.
Day 9: REYKJAVÍK AND THE BLUE LAGOON
Continue your exploration of south Iceland on the Reykjanes Peninsula and stop at the famous Blue Lagoon. The geothermal areas Gunnuhver and Krýsuvík on the peninsula are well worth the visit as well as the picturesque Kleifarvatn lake. You don´t want to miss the chance to cross between the two continents of Europe and North America on the bridge between continents.
Day 11: DEPART FOR HOME
If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes Peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation.
