Íslandshótel Receives 2026 Responsible Tourism Incentive Award

We are proud to share that Íslandshótel has been awarded the 2026 Responsible Tourism Incentive Award, recognizing our outstanding work in sustainability.

Award 2

Íslandshótel has been honoured with the 2026 Responsible Tourism Incentive Award, a meaningful recognition of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

The award was presented by Halla Tómasdóttir, President of Iceland, during a ceremony at Gróska, held as part of Responsible Tourism Day.

This recognition reflects a long-term approach where sustainability is woven into everyday decisions, from operations to guest experience. The jury highlighted how our work is not only guided by responsible practices, but also contributes to shaping the future of tourism in Iceland through transparency, clear strategy, and measurable progress.

The award was received on behalf of Íslandshótel by Davíð Torfi Ólafsson, together with colleagues Erna Dís Ingólfsdóttir, Hrund Hauksdóttir, and Lijing Zhou.

We are grateful for this recognition and the collaboration with partners across the industry who share the same vision for a more responsible future.

Above all, this achievement belongs to our people. It reflects the care, dedication, and commitment shown every day across our hotels; for our guests, our communities, and the environment that surrounds us.
