New Partnership Announcement: Carbon Offsetting
Íslandshótel is pleased to share that we have commenced our carbon offsetting journey through a signed partnership with Kolviður (Iceland Carbon Fund).
This marks an important step forward in our climate work and supports our commitment to the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism - halving our emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.
Together with Kolviður, we plan to offset at least 50% of Íslandshótel's total carbon emissions from 2025 during 2026, supporting forestry projects in Iceland that contribute to long-term carbon sequestration and environmental restoration. The collaboration is designed as a long-term effort as we continue strengthening our climate actions while keep reducing our operational emissions.
